Hey there from Atlanta, Georgia USA,
Love the article. Simple, concise and kicks butt! Ever hear of Max Weber?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Weber
One of the things I find quite intriguing in his writings is his epiphany about the "Iron Cage".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_cage
Anyway, Cheers! as y'all say Down Under. Thank you for being a "thinking" human being. All the best to you and your loved one's.
Sincerely,
Dave from Atlanta

“Bureaucracy is the death of all sound work”
Albert Einstein

“Bureaucracy is the art of making the possible impossible.”

a book Shantaram:
“The world is run by one million evil men, ten million stupid men, and a hundred million cowards…”

And it goes on to explain in 2pp that i’m not going to type out, but paraphrased, the one million were the rich/powerful “whose decisions counted”. The ten million were the soldiers and police who enforced the rule of the evil men (‘brave but stupid’ b/c giving lives for governments and causes who use their flesh and blood). And the hundred million were the beaurocrats and paper shufflers and pen-pushers who permit the rule of the evil men, and look the other way. They are the “cowards who know what is going on, but say nothing, while they sign the paper that puts one man before a firing squad, or condemns one million men to the slower death of a famine.”

Yep, I couldn't agree more! I'm being completely stuffed around by a childcare training company, their paper pushers keep changing the program (they call it upgrading) while I'm expected to redo all the work I've done. Stupid thing is the Federal gov. has brought in a new curriculum and my training provider hasn't integrated it into their 'upgrade'. So by the time I redo everything they will be ready to 'upgrade' again! (where does that leave me? phttt!) bureaucracy keeps moving the goal posts, and changing the rules... The children I care for change their minds and their undies less than the educated 'departmental' society I have to keep up with.

I love when folks choose to talk common sense! My partner & I were having a discussion about these very points this afternoon, & find it hard to believe that people could be so short sighted in thier pursuit of what they need. I know this idea goes against the majority grain of current human nature, but how much more could be achieved if folk combined resources/energy to achieve sustainable goals, rather than purely keeping an eye out for themselves? Unfortunately, the more people operating purely out of self interest there are, the more there will be. It takes energy to first become aware of the toxic nature of self serving behaviour, & even more to turn oneself around against the tide of that kind of attitude. More power to all of you who refuse to give in to the "F**ck you Jack,I'm alright" mentality, & continue to be real human beings making a real contribution to the health of thier communities & world.
