Clinton Says Haiti Should Become Self-Sufficient

Here’s a case of “do what we say, not what we do”… Former US President, Bill Clinton in his role as United Nations special envoy has urged aid groups to rebuild the country’s government and put them on track as a self-sufficient nation.

Did Bill try to sell the idea of self sufficiency to his own country?  Is that on the agenda in the US today? Barely. The USA has become a nation of consumers, gobbling up China’s output. Consumption is 70% of the economy. How can that work in the longer term? Can’t people add up 2+2 anymore?

National self sufficiency is the key to national security… so just how secure is America? Or Australia? Or any developed economy that’s bought into globalization? It’s not sustainable. We’re trashing the planet in pursuit of false wealth.
